Sudamala is a boutique, beachfront property right at the edge of the water in Senggigi. Now, Senggigi isn't your white-sand and lots of it kind of beach. So if that's what you're looking for, you might be better off looking at resorts in South Lombok. But if you want some quiet time, with excellent staff and attention to detail, then Sudamala is for you. We traveled with our kid (2 year old) for 4 nights. The sea-facing room really did have a great view. We went in the rains, but could tell that in summer, sunsets, and a view of Bali's volcanic mountain would be stunning. The bathroom, with a mix of indoor shower and an outdoor bathtub, was stunning. The staff exceeded in their care and attention to detail. For our anniversary, we had booked a special dinner; and they went out of their way to set up a canopied table with candle lights and flowers. The meal was a 5-course dinner, customised because I don't eat seafood. Even when after two courses, we had to put a v tired child to bed, they were completely accommodating, and brought us our main course after a good 40 mins' break: still completely hot and fresh. The food was excellent; especially all the local dishes. Do note this is a small resort, so don't expect multiple big pools, or activities for kids. But our toddler likes staring at waves, picking up flowers and leaves, so it was fine for us.

The staff incredibly accommodating our request to make two of our rooms to next to each other, they upgrade our reservation from Narmada bedroom to Suranadi villa, ensuring a comfortable stay for our family. Throughout the new year season, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, and they truly made a difference during our stay. The hotel is conveniently located directly to the beach, the Mataram city, and the port to go to Gili island. Additionally, a convenience store is located across the hotel, providing a convenient option for quick purchases or withdraw cash. The property offers direct access to the beach, allowing us to play in the sand and enjoy the best sunset. My child enjoyed the opportunity to play in the sand or take a dip in the villa's swimming pool.

Everything was impeccable from start to finish. Our room (villa 116) was beautiful, clean, huge and decorated for our honeymoon. The garden was beautifully shaded with trees and our private pool was massive! Every single member of staff was kind and polite they couldn't have been more helpful at every instance - from the thoughtful morning chats at breakfast, to offering me a complimentary massage after I fell in our pool ( my own fault) , sweet gifts of ceramics when we left to remember our stay and packing us up breakfast for our early flight. The hotel organized a scooter for us and a private snorkeling tour, it was so easy and they helped us organise on such short notice. The food at the resort is EXCEPTIONAL the chef is talented and so involved, he came to see us every night. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Sudamala.

The food was wonderful, the staff are exceptional (especially Made, Superman, Putu, Anis and Agung), poolside immaculate. It was like living in a dream. We wanted to extend our stay here but only the more expensive rooms were available and out of our budget. The food can be expensive, as they are in these top resorts, but there are some fantastic restaurants in 4 minute walking distance as well as a few mini-marts. Quick drive to Senggigi and when available the hotel driver will take you. The bonus was cookies and a bedtime story every night. May your hotel go from strength to strength.

The views of the ocean from the restaurant and sunset bar were also extremely relaxing. We ended up having dinner at the hotel every night! Loved the bed-time story and snacks that were at our bedside every evening. Definitely the best resort during our entire trip in Lombok
